Great Math Website

I am always on the look out for a great websites. For years I combed the internet looking for math websites that worked well with elementary students. You see I was the math/technology specialist and we had very little software. (Office products don't always work well with elementary child. Though I have had classes do amazing things with them.) Sometimes you just need a place for students to practice skills or gain a visual understanding of math. Below are just a few of my favorite math websites for elementary students.

Fun4theBrain - This site is great for practicing basic math facts. There are loads, and I mean loads of math facts games for elementary students to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication or division facts. The site grows continually. It works well with students from 1st - 5th grade. It was a favorite site with my students.

Math Playground -  This site has many possibilities. I especially enjoyed using it with my 4th and 5th graders. I imagine it would be great with middle school also. There are number games, logic games, math manipulatives and much more. Math work is made visual and fun at this site.

Thinking Blocks - If your students need visuals for problem solving, this is the site to use. It use the part/whole model and blocks to help students see how the numbers relate to each other. The visuals they create with blocks helps them determine the proper operation. I will admit, I played with this site for a while before introducing it to my students. It is well worth the effort and time. I've used it with 2nd - 5th grade. I can see it being a great resource in middle school too.
