of these characters relates how voting and election day are special. Meg shares
how her crossing guard job is different because of the election. She also
shares the history behind voting. David’s brother Jake will vote for the first
time. Aidan goes with his grandfather to vote. They recount these events in
engaging child friendly voices.
This is a wonderful book to introduce elections
to students. It is a great read aloud book for K-3rd grade. For kindergarten
classes you may choose to read this book in sections. It is very easily broken
down this way. The reading lexile for this book is listed as 800-899.

about 2nd grade.
